ok, I have no idea what is going on with my computer. I have a laptop that I use primarily at work (and here), and within the last week or so it will randomly start playing stuff. It usually lasts for about 30 seconds to about 3 minutes. This past Thursday, my office mates and I figured out it was playing dialogue from the Batman movie (?). Nothing is open on the net when this happens and there does not appear to a time of day either. It just started doing it again a minute or so again. Any ideas? Did I pick up a cookie or something? - I'm very cautious on my computer and have a firewall on and the filter at my work is very intense.

    You might have some Malware.

    I would de-fragment your systems.

Scan for virus and Malware prior to defragging.

Defraggin wont fix it but it probably is some form of malware. I used to put trojans in friends computers then make it do funny stuff and laugh about them freaking out.

    You're 100% correct.

    Try goggling Malware Bytes.

You may need to boot into safe mode.

Do you have a boot disk with antivirus?

You can get Avast for free, try Malware Bytes first.

I use to be big into Windows (PC) until I got a Mac, but Malware Bytes is a great program. I think you can pick up the Pro version @ Best Buy for 39.99 (99.99 Online).

    +1 for Cheryl

Thanks all! I found malwarebytes on my start up menu and ran that and then hubby helped me...found about 9 things while scanning. It seems whatever was there was also blocking my windows regular updating. I'll defrag also later today.
