I was thinking about getting a UV Sterilizer for my tank to help clean up my water...and to hopefully help keep away my cyano problem I just cleared up.

Thing is, about the only thing I know about them is that they help clear up the water and help with cyano. I have no idea what kind/size/wattage?? I would need for a 55gallon. Also wondering what brands would be good to go with...

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it :)

They don't do much with cyano but can help with green algae somewhat. Personally, except for breeding strips and ponds they aren't worth the investment. There are better, easier and cheaper ways to control cyano.
