Info on HQI and Male Lyretail Anthias

I have 2 questions. My 1st question is I have 2 female lyretail anthias's in the tank already, what would most likely happen if I threw in a Male? The LFS said that there hit and miss like one time they put him in with one female and they were fine and put him with like 8 more and they were fine and the other time they put in another male in a different tank with 8 females and he killed them all off. Basically I am asking is this a typical thing?

My second question would be, I have been reading up on Metal Halides and I keep Hearing about HQI controllers, What exactly are they?

HQI controllers? I have no clue what you mean.

HQI is what some people believe to be double ended bulbs, but that is not a correct assumption. You can get HQI Single ended MH.
