Input on filter setup

    Attached is a rough drawing of a filter setup I'm thinking of using.
    Right now all the filters are behind the stand on the hardwood floor and it is a big project just to access them, let alone service them. This also causes a fair amount of water on the hardwood. I have decided to put the system in the basement below and just replace the pump with a more powerful one. The system would use two GE whole-house filters set in parallel using only the basic mechanical cartridges, no chemicals.
    After the filters, water would flow through my Lifegard chemical filter, then the heater module, and then the UV module before returning up to the SCWD in the aquarium. All of this would fit in a room under the stairwell.

    The pump will be a Turbo-sea 790-P.

    Valves A and E would be used to isolate the whole system if need be.
    The house filters have built in off and bypass settings.
    Valve C would be normally closed but if I want to isolate the chemical, heater and UV modules, I could open valve C and close valves B and D.
    The flow meter would help me adjust the flow or show when the filters need servicing. A check valve would be used to prevent back flow.

    I'm sure it seems overkill but I hate doing things over and over. It will also be nice to service the filters standing up and without turning off the pump. Not to mention any spills won't be on the hardwood anymore.

    Anyhow, I'm interested in any thoughts or ideas for improvements. I'd also like to incorporate a siphon or something to draw in fresh saltwater when I do my water changes. I'm hoping for a more uniform and diluted method of adding the saltwater rather than just pouring in a little at a time. Any ideas on how to do that would be appreciated. Some sort of venturi piece of plumbing I suppose...

    an additional bump

    for adding new Salt water at water change time that drain valve on the return looks like an ideal location to me
    a quick connector at that point, which could be linked to the pump in your SW mixing bucket or tank via hosing

    honestly though jetenginemech - this is far more complicated than anything I have ever undertaken

    am not too sure what the "house filters" are actually for.

    As for filling, before the pump you could T off twice and a valve on each, as well as inbetween.. the T nearest pump you could draw in your freshly mixed salt water, This would cause the tank to overflow, which could then siphon out of the T furthest the pump.

    Your current design looks good though, very much like they install pumps and declorinators and the likes in HUGE buildings.

    The house filters are just forms of mechanical filters. They contain replaceable filters, like a floss filter, but much denser.
