    Well, since my tank is finally up and running and coming up towards the end of it's cycle, I figured I would start a permanent thread here. I will only update the DIY thread in the "I made this" forum when I add something to the equipment.

    For those who don't know about my tank, here's the link:
    http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/diy-65-gallon-reef-tank-build-pics-110234.html

    The tank is currently coming towards the end of the cycle. Ammonia is at zero and Nitrites are not far behind, and I have a small diatom outbreak. I added a small domino damsel from my gf's tank that she needed to get rid of (what a PITA to catch), and I added 8 blue legged hermits. All the livestock seems happy and well.

    Here are a few quick shots I grabbed. I've never done anything with a camera except leave it on auto and point and shoot. Now this hobby has me google'ing camera settings trying to teach myself how to make the pics come out decent. LOL.

    Sorry, I didn't clean the glass ::)

    Just be patient. I had to see those ugly diatoms all over the place AND dealt with the wife complaining about it.

    LOL. Did they go away after the cycle, or did you fight them?

    It'll go away on its own. But be prepared, it might be, literally, all over the place..
