Well I have a bubble trap, but it's only a 2 divider style, if thats the correct wording. The water comes into the skimmer chamber, has to pass under the first baffle, then raise up and fall over the 2nd baffle. The problem is the skimmer barely fits, and the output faces down and blows the bubbles directly under that first baffle. So my plan is to fit a 90 on the skimmer output and direct the bubbles away from the bubble trap to give them time to surface.

Since threads are worthless without pics....

New power setup, not finished but way better than the rat's nest I had for a year.

Crappy pic, only the blues are on right now and my camera sucks.

The 3 baffle trap is supposed to be better, but the exit direction is the real problem.

Thanks. Although the tank has a ways to go, hard to tell from that pic.

As for the exit direction, are you talking about the skimmer exit? Or are you saying that with my 2 baffle setup I should have the baffles reversed so that the water falls over the first baffle and goes under the 2nd?

Well here is what I came up with. You can see the 2 baffle trap on the right, and I was able to fit a pvc 90 onto the skimmer output and direct it back away from the trap. Fixed all the micro bubble problems I was having. Had to readjust the skimmer height and gave it a thorough cleaning so it went flat for awhile. Dialing it back in right now.

Skimmer is an Odyssea ps75. I know people look at Odyssea stuff as garbage, and I would say if you got this skimmer for a HOB, forget it. It will NEVER stop pouring out microbubbles, BUT, they can be managed in a sump. It is also VERY picky on how deep you can run it, and HAS to have a constant depth that never varies. All of those things aside, once it is set it's like it's on autopilot. And it pulls NASTY sewage skimmate out of my tank and I've had zero failure problems over a year of using it off and on. It is now going to be ran full time since I have fixed all of the problems. I'm hoping now that I've got the skimmer lined out, and getting ready to add a GFO reactor, that I can get the tank looking pristine once again.

Yeah I meant the skimmer, sorry for the confusion.

Congrats on the redirect working and solving your issue.

Got my deluxe reactor from BRS and installed it today with a Mag 3 pump and some GFO. Due to there being no room under the stand, I went with the black deluxe model and mounted it on the side of my stand. Hopefully this is the first step in getting my phosphates under control.

Also got my 4 stage RO/DI from BRS and got it temporarily hooked up. I'm now officially not using tap water anymore. Can't wait to get these phosphates under control.
