It's starting to slowly disappear from the rockwork, still a decent amount on the sand. I've got to get a CUC ordered from reefcleaners so they can clean up the rest of it. Other than that things seem to be okay other than 40 PPM Nitrates that dont seem to be going down any further.

Why do you think it's stuck at 40ppm? It's kinda high range isnt it? Hows the fuge doing?

Idk really. At the end of the cycle it was sky high, but after throwing chateo in the fuge and running the light 24/7 it dropped down to 40 and has been there ever since. Chaeto in the fuge seems to be doing normal as far as growth. Maybe the die off of diatoms is fueling the nitrates?

I had just read your build thread and this one too. Very nice job with everything!! I love, love LOVE the rock work. Sorry to hear about the Nitrates. I am wondering if maybe your cycle is not completely over.. Just a thought. As you know when you use dry rock to start it sometimes takes a real long time to get "past" the ugly stages. I will be following this thread it is very neat the amount of planning and detail you have put into this tank. I am looking forward to seeing it in 6 months and then a year :) Keep up the great work!

Thanks! I'm gonna try to keep it updated with pics. Just been busy lately. Can't wait to get some coral in the tank.
