Just finished a thorough cleaning on my tank and just thought I'd post an update.

    CORALINE HAS BEGUN!!!!!!

I was cleaning the glass and sucking the crap out of the overflow box and sump, putting fresh socks on etc. And while I was up close I noticed that ALL of my DIY rock now has tiny purple specks all over it! This tank is only 2 months old and its already starting to get coraline! So I decided to help it out even more and I pulled a rock from the sump that is covered in coraline (picked up from LFS), and I held it in front of the powerhead and scrubbed it with a toothbrush. That outta seed some more of it :)

Niiiiice. In a couple months it'll be covered. I remember I was so pumped when I started seeing show up on the rocks. Congrats!

really nice so far... as its been said a dozen time so far, i dig the scape! Just outta curiosity sake, what salt are you using?

Early in the thread you mentioned poor selection of coral at your lfs, i would strongly recommend using ebay...where im at in ks the lfs doesnt keep much either so i went with reef pets twice and and a different seller the third time but all three times they were perfect frags that took off in my bc14. I think the best part is everytime ive bought off ebay including shipping i get 2-4 frag for the price of one at my lfs

Congrats!!!!!!!! I suggest you to pic a spot in the back wall (or wherever) and start taking pics weekly, so you can compare how fast they are popping up.

It is gonna be my secret too.. keep it low.. LOL

Well this tank is 2 months old and I have yet to do a water change. It was setup using Instant Ocean reef crystals.

I've looked at a couple sellers on ebay, never heard from anyone buying off ebay though. Nice to hear you had some good experiences. The sponsors here on 3reef run specials too, and they have some NICE looking pieces.

Thanks exactly, thats not a bad idea!
