That's them! And under $3 for both. I know I have like 5 hd within 10 miles from me. Not sure about you but if one doesn't have one fitting then another should. Sometimes they can be weird like that. Glad you were able to find them online.

Yeah, we have 2-3 as well. I actually found several of them in the store (according to the website) that I typically visit. Go figure.

Need to figure out how to rig the top off now. I don't like the bulkheads for the push connect fittings as it doesn't seem to have a screw on the back side to tighten like a bulkhead on a tank would.

    Cool, glad they'll have them.

I think that fitting will work. You'd just have to drill a hole in the bucket or jug that is just a bit smaller than the fitting and then screw it in and aquarium silicone the threads before its all the way in and you should be good.
I'm sure someone else would have a better solution but that's what I think.

By reducing the size of the output on the overflow you are decreasing its flow rate.Hard plumbing will also contribute to some loss of flow.;)

Yeah, I have to though, unfortunately. The sump bulkhead is 1" and the overflow is 1 1/4. For a 20 gallon tank and a 300 GPH overflow, I should be fine.

As for the bulkhead, you CANNOT use those outside threads like you're trying to. Those are there for the bulkhead nut ONLY and are not designed to be used for PVC. They are oddly sized to intentionally prevent you from using them.

You MUST use the inside of the bulkhead. If it's not a threaded bullkhead (on the ID), you'll need to glue in a piece of PVC on the ID. Then you can do whatever you like on the PVC to continue your plumbing.

So the threads are different then?

Correct, you won't find a PVC thread which fits them (properly) because it doesn't exist.
