    Yes it can. Wish i had the money, that's a great deal from the sound of it. Haven't looked at CPUs in forever but i7's are top of the line last i looked.

    I've been entertaining building a pc... I want something for gaming and my dell xps just isn't cutting it.

    Just get a MacMini and call it a day, you can make it one of the best HTPCs out there.

    But that is a pretty good deal OP, nice job MicroCenter.

    yea as a pro gamer i build all of my pc's. Thats a steal cause i looked at that chip 8 months ago and it was pricey. but i spent the money lol. now i am like wow thats amazing.

    That would be good for online content, but what about actual television content which an HTPC really shines on? The best thing would be to get a ceton infiniti and an HD cable card from your providor. Set it up on Windows 7 Media Center or whatever OS and software you choose to run on the computer, usually in your home office or bedroom. Make sure to setup power saving so that the PC turns on and off when it records TV shows. Then use an xbox (most people already have this) for the media center extender in the living room or wherever you want to extend the media center content to. I stream HD content all over the house from my single DVR over my wireless network. I even stream to my tablet and cell phone over the internet, although the internet bottleneck makes this not very enjoyable at times.
