Son of a b! Explains why I was getting different readings for my calcium. I test 8 of my vials and 2 were off.

I second this! I always use a 5mL syringe to fill up my API tubes b/c almost all of them are over the line they printed on it. K+ for bringing up awareness on this!

    Nice find.

Funny how the vials on the API Reefmaster Test Kit say 5ml right by the line.

I'm a PA-C, and I too checked mine with a 5ml syringe- from work- medical grade, etc.
2 of the vials were right on.
1 had the line slightly below the meniscus, and,
1 had the line about 1/8 inch below the minscus.

So the one for sure had less test water in it using their mark- which would give slightly higher readings of what you used it for.

Again thanks, I hadn't thought of something so duh simple like their nice looking 5ml mark being off, I'll use my syringe to load it from now on.

My Ca+ was 580 today! And I don't even dose anything!

All were mailed tht were requested and I was caught off guard with the number of requests.. Its all good and I have plenty more so anyone that is a 3reef user is welcome to one syringe each... I may have to send some 10ml out once I run out of 5ml as I sent over 50 today.... I encourage everyone with concern to make sure they test their kits just to make sure as it doesnt cost you a penny.......

These also come in a pharmacy such as in a Walmart, as a pediatric dosing device for liquid meds for kids.

I even used my 5ml syringe to check one and it has spot on.

Nice job Jay for your generostiy and kindness, etc.
