As title states. Makes sense that some algae inhibit coral growth but interesting how some species become MORE toxic. And we wonder why we have chemical warfare in or measly 20-200gal systems????

Also very interesting how nature has designed the coral killing algae to be more desirable to the tangs as a way to help corals remove the algae. More reason to get a big tank with lots of tanks lol.

The complicated chemical relationships within coral communities are astonishing — Advanced Aquarist | Aquarist Magazine and Blog

it is over my head in terms of the science of it, but I did see where dinos are around and part of the whole process. I wonder what causes the imbalance that some people end up with dino in their tanks? It's like it's always present but something clicks it into overdrive and it does not appear to be nutrients because it gets bad in some very clean systems.
