Salfert and there not expired. There is no ammonia present in the tank what so ever. Now this is not saying that there was not some in there for a short period of time and I did not detect it. This tank would have processed this ammonia very fast. I dont think its a cycle that made the water cloudy. The fish are just fine only inverts that had problems. I have seen it do a mini cycle before and all the stuff just does not add up to that.

Now this might be not sure how I would go about testing something like this most everything on this tank is new within the last year. Looked for bare wires nothing. Gonna be looking at the heaters mostly but some info on how to check for conductivity would be great. I can put my hand in the tank and nothing so that tells me its a low voltage. Another thing that gets me is the fact that it happened and now its getting better. I have heard of intermittent shorts but ones inside a conductor are hard to believe. But that being said if there is a good way to test this let me know and ill check it out. Heard somewhere about a multimeter in the water but what would I be looking for and or what would it have to be set on would be great :)

Well in all honesty I have 2 Refractometers for that very concern. Both are calibrated about once a month. This is not a salinity issue for sure. This I do know it would throw one if not more tank perameters off and that would make me looking at it. If your paying for fluid your buying a $12 bottle of distilled or RO/DI water its really a waste of money. And they are not perfect no matter what or how you calibrate them. This is just my opinion on this matter. But 2 Diffrent refractometers gave the same reading. Its not salinity

    Nope

And as for old age its almost a year old

As for the tank not sure ill ever figure out what it was. It has passed now and everything seems to be a little happier and tank is almost 97% clear now so who knows. Maybe it was some funky kind of bacteria. Gonna test it with my meter a few times a day for the next few days just to make sure its not intermittent but so far everything is looking alot better.
