Well it's now been 6 full weeks since I first started my 55G saltwater tank. My tank fully cycled after the 3rd week. So I added a yellow tail damsel. I did some research on these forums and found out that the yellow tailed damsel is probably the least aggresive damsel, and this proved to be true. I watched the yellow tails at the LFS before I bought mine.
So I waited 2 and a half weeks and decided to get a royal gramma. Another good suggestion from my fellow 3 reefers! I checked my water paramters before I bought the gramma and all was well. A day after I got my gramma, I went over to the aquarium and almost stepped on my damsel!! He jumped out!! He had to be out of the water at least 15 minutes. He wasn't moving or breathing and he felt kind of dry. I scooped him up as fast as I could in a net and dipped him in the water! No movement!! I started to swish the net around and he started showing signs of life! Two days later he was completely back to normal. No signs of trauma or injury. Needless to say I went to the local Lowes and bought me some eggcrate. ;D
