So i have been doin a lot of lookin and it seems that the skim slim is the best option for my tank. It is a 36 gallon bow front 1 clown 1 orange spotted goby 1 neon dottyback 1 baby 3 stripe damsel 1 clown goby 2 cleaner shrimp turbo small hermit crab and what i believe to be a mushroom coral growing ( that part is exciting) .also probably 45 pounds of life rock 25 pounds of live sand power head 660 and an emperor 400. I guess my question is is this to much for this unit because i would like to add maybe one or two more fish. And also had anyone else used this and what are you're thoughts.any advice is welcome thanks in advance.

How deep is your tank? The inlet is at the top of the unit and if the tank isn't deep enough, the unit won't function.

Secondly. it will eat up a good portion of a corner in your tank, so keep that in mind.

Personally, if you can't go with a sump, I would go with a HOB skimmer and keep the eye sore out of the tank.

5 fish is about max for your tank imo.

I just got the hydor slim skim for my 40B, and man this thing hauls a$$ lol. uses only 4 watts, so it's pretty damn quiet. nice build quality, nice form factor too. Yea it's KINDA big, but that doesn't really bother me. I got it on amazon for like $80, great price imo.

Awesome thank you guys i really appreciate it.can't wait to get this skimmer now and see how the tank looks after that..also would a10 gallon sump tank be to small for my tank? I have very little room underneath but really want to start getting my stuff in order during winter months

I am not certain the skimmer will fit in a 10 gallon sump if that's what you intended to do. But the 10 gallon sump would be fine. Mind you with baffles, you're looking at a 5 gallon sump.
