So in my Biocube I have the following inmates:

    3 Pepermint shrimps
3 red legged reef hermit crabs
    4 Astrea Snails
    1 Xenia coral
    1 zoanthid coral.

I find all of my creatures amazing however the one thats amazing me the most is one of my shrimps, I feed these everyother day with a pinch of brine shrimp and flake ...this is literally a pinch held between two fingers that i reach in and release at the front of my tank.

The biggest of my shrimps has taken to coming out and actually grabbing the flakes from my fingers and will quite happily come and sit on my hand as I am gently releasing the flakes. I do this because with my two nano pumps and upgraded main pump i have a flow of close to 800 gph.

I am curious if anyone else has had similar encounters with these great little guys. I will try and get a picture when my girlfriend is home so you call all see.

Yes they do that, I hand feed most of my animals. Some fish never get used to my hand, but my Yellow tang, Kole tang, shrimps and my Fox Face(when I had it) all eat from my hand. Its like having a Discovery channel moment every other day in person. Is in it great??? Luna

    Heres a video of it.

I have never seen or heard of that with peppermint shrimp because as soon as they are released they are hardly ever seen again unless it lights out at 2 in the morning. That's just my experience with them though. I would like to see that.

    Very cool video Luna,

Thats given me an idea to try and video the shrimp. Of my three shrimps one I hardly see unless i actively look for him the other two tend to put on a show. Perhaps its because they have had the tank to themselves maybe?

Once I get through the panic of moving this 90 I will have to sit down and take some pics and fingers crossed make a video of that shrimp.

Thats a neat video luna. My foxface almost attacks my fingers as soon as I put them in, his mouth hits my fingers hard when he's really going at it.

Does anyone hate the way it feels when their skunk shrimp "cleans" their hand? To me it feels so werid I hate it!!! I am always having to lure him to the other side of the tank if I have to work on something then quickly move it to the other side so I'm not cleaned!

Yes, my peppermint shrimp does that too. Sometimes he just wants to ride on my hand as I clean the tank! He also cleans my hand-it pinches.

long time ago with my brackish tank i had a rainbow gobie that would come out of the water on top of plants that was floating and take a shrimp pellet out between my fingers

My biggest peppermint shrimp comes out to eat, but I haven't ever tried to hand feed it.
The skunk cleaner shrimp on the other hand is not shy at all.
