Hey everyone. I have a question for ya. I already have two clownfish in my 46 gal BF with a blue-tipped anemone and one has laid claim to the anemone. I have noticed that they have been doing the "dance" and i hope they will pair up soon, they are both still kinda small so it might be a bit early for them to decide what sex they will take. The main question is if I introduce a new carpet anemone to the tank will the clownfish split up or will they stay together. I have also been thinking of buying a crab to inhabit the new anemone. What do you guys think?

If the clowns pair up they will not split up. They will take up residence in whichever anemone they like best.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It's anyone guess if the more dominate clown of the two will let the less dominate clown anywhere near the anemone. Regardless in that size tank they will have no problem pairing up as they mature, the presence of another anemone will not hinder them.

+ 1 - I have a tank with several BTA's and one pair of clowns. The two are bonded but often sleep or are hosted by separate nems. Sometimes you find them both in the same one - Guess it all depends on how nice the female wants to be that day.

Yeah, clowns will change hosts almost daily in my tank, usually the male guards the nem while the female explores all the other housing options.
