Invasive Lionfish - Calling all Florida Spearfisherman!!!

It almost tastes like grouper. Yummy. They are trying to get the local restaurants to start adding them to there menus. I have killed almost 500 of them around my local reef. When they reach the northern Atlantic, those fisheries will be in even worse shape then they are now.

Agreed. I have never speared a fish in my life, but when you see the damage that these fish do its a no brainer.

 

o yeah I remember this. If you go to the Georgia Aquarium they have a tank with TONS of lionfish from Florida and talk about the invasive species. For any of you freshwater people out there there is also an invasive species called the snakeheads.

My "people" are fisherman.... you'd think I'd be hardened to it.

If I could dip it in MS-222 and then eat it, I'm game!!!
