    It worked both ways. I hazed all new employees by putting a common chemical found in a LFS into their soda. It always generated screams from the bathroom. If they had drank enough water that their urine was going to be clear, now it was blue. If they had less water in their system and their urine would have been yellow, now their urine was green-ish blue.

    Bite-boy did get me good one time. Our refrigerator for DT's and Reef Nutrition products broke. He knew that it had been broken for an entire day. He said, "Curt, does this phyto smell like it might be starting to go bad?" He PRETENDED to smell it. He handed me the bottle and I took a good whiff and started to hurl. I made it out the front door and threw up a little out there. Because a neighbor was a Pizza Place, that wasn't exactly too cool for them so I had to book it back through the store out the back door.

    LOL Looking back I cringe thinking on how stupid I was. I really should have kept a pair of swim trunks at the shop. As far as the other sharks go, I wasn't really to worried about them. I was more worried about the baby flounders. They were the same color as the substrate and they were as fast as all get out. They were aggressive too. It wasn't uncommon for them to steal food out of a lumbering sharks mouth. These guys actually made keeping the animals in this tank difficult for a bit. Then we got a Wobbegong that really liked his food!!!! A couple of warning bites got them to behave better. I've never been bitten by a shark with the exception of banded cats that I hatched from an egg. Once the nourishment from the yolk has been burned off, you HAVE to get them eating quickly. Sometimes they don't want to do that. So I force fed them. Frankly, if someone stuck their finger down my throat (whether there's food or not), I am going to bite them too. ;)

    Yeah, the best place is the thicker part of their "wings".

    Anytime there was to be any new livestock added to the shark tank, there were 2 rules;

    1) The sharks were to be fed several times that day, and
    2) The lights were to be turned off in the shark tank for at least an hour

    I was swamped so I hadn't noticed that the employees were breaking both of those rules. I had a customer that has a 4500g tank that wanted an large bluespot stingray so I brought one in for him. There was a commotion and I look into the tank to see an epaulette shark trying to eat the stingray. I pulled off my drawers and jumped into the tank and punched the shark repeatedly until he let go of the ray.

    Believe it or not, that ray is still living happily to this day. LOL
