    Jay, here's another question. What do you feed your brittle star? I found out that I have at least one in my tank (he's finally brave enough to let me see him) and I want to give him somewhat regular target feeds as well as an introduction treat so that he know I know he's there and will try to feed him.

    OK, I know it sounds crazy---you should hear me talk to the fish and the cats.

    They look like little baby brittle stars...roughly a quarter in diameter at most.

    If you look at the back of the tank on the filter intake, right above the slot guards, you will see a micro brittle that is about full size.

    I can honestly say that I probably have around 2 per gallon, if not more, in the sand, rocks, plants, filters, and anything else that can be used as cover.

    I have fed my brittle stars everything from silversides to shrimp pellets. It really depends on how hungry they are. But, they have never turned down thawed out, cut up, silverside fish. Make sure the food is small enough so it doesn't stretch their mouths too much. :)
