having a stupid problem, I messed with the flow in my tank cause I had a couple of dead spots, put to much flow on the sand and now it looks like crap, waiting on everything to settle back down but I may pickup some sponge tomorrow to filter it out

if the water didn't look so bad I'd post some it still isn't fully opening though might still be a few days

tank still looked like crap this AM so I'm going to go get some filter floss or microsponge to put in the sump to catch the debris floating around wet skimming isnt enough

added some sponge last night, was weird soon as I put it in the skimmer started skimming insanes amount of pure white foam so I had to adjust it down, dumped it 3 times in 15 minutes though

anyway the water clarity is back to being decent this am so another 24hrs with this setup should get it back crystal clear and I've learned to be more cautious with my flow adjustments

1 thing that is driving me nuts, my turbos keep steam rolling a few of my corals, 2 days ago they knocked my hammer, cloves and palys off their rocks so I put those back

now this AM my hammer mushroom and monti are all knocked over these 2 might end up in the nano with smaller replacements in this tank at this rate

I never mess with them, too darned clumsy! Trochus' are big too and have a great apetite plus they are supposed to live 5-7 yrs. They turn themselves over when flipped also. Just a thought!

Same thing will happen if you get a sea urchin. I got rid of mine in less than 2 weeks. He went back in the ocean where I got him from. Luna

ill keep that in mind on the trochus, and yeah luna I've learned my lessons with urchins, had a great blue tuxedo when I first setup corals in my tank, he kept ripping the gsp off the rock they were superglued to and wearing them as camo

then I just added a pencil urchin to a client's tank that they wanted (they had to have the stupid thing) and it's eating their hetro-xenia I think, stalks have randomly started disappearing since it's addition so I'm blaming it anyway

uploading pics now trying to play around with my camera more in it's macro feature and still trying to get it dialed in properly
