Iron

I just want to know how many of you fellow reefers dose with iron?
Appearantly iron is beneficial to corals, anemone's and other photosynthetic organisms due to increased growth, coloration and expansion. Be careful however as to the type of iron you use. It must be ferric citrate or chelated with EDTA as these are the only forms that are, and remain stable, at the pH of natural seawater.
Free living algae and seaweed also benefits from iron dosing/supplementing, however, it should be done slowly or the outbreak of microalgae will be encouraged!8)

I think the poll is still messed up. I see two choices: 1) "Do you dose with iron?" and 2) "Does anyone dose with iron?"

 

a) for me. It benefits the zooxanthellae and encourages growth. I dose once a week.

 

(b) for me, I use it for my macro
