I have 2 750 hydro wave makers in my 29gallon tank. And it seems my 2 fire fish have trouble swimming in that roughe of a current ik they are healthy cause they eat like pigs and swim fine when I turn the wave makers off. Also I have them on an alternate cycle for the wave makers. One on one off and it changes every like 20 mins.

Should I down grade them and get something like 2 400's

iv heard there is no such thing as 2 much flow UNTILL it gets in the way of your fish swimming. you might want to look into a controller, i have a Sicce wavesurfer.

its a very basic controller with 2 slots that will alternate the times the pumps go on from anything starting at 10 seconds (5" each) up to 5 mins.

you can also decide which of the two pumps you want on longer, for example if you set it to one min you can have one go for 45" and the other 15".

it also has a feeding mode and a night mode

What type of corals do you have. The flow is perfect for an SPS tank and about what my flow is.

For your planned corals that will probably be too much. You will only need about 30X flow for your planned corals.

I am assuming you mean you have two Hydor Evolutions 750's?
I wouldn't downgrade. I have a Evolutions 425 nano and an older Hydor Koralia K-1 rated at 400 GPH in a 16G bowfront along with a modded AC110 HOB refugium and could use more flow even for softies and anemones.

What if I get 2 of the 550/600 hydors and I can always put the 2 750s on my 72gallon predator tank im building.
And can the sicce work on hydors.
