It's rated for 120 and I don't feel I'm overstocked. Although, some are kids. When they grow up, I should be good.

One of the toughest aspects of this hobby is to try to anticipate(sp) what you need and what you will need for the future. Keep in mind a couple of things when purchasing a skimmer.

    1. Always plan on being over-stocked b/c theres alway that fish/coral that you gotta have and/or cant pass up a "good" deal or even...." wow, thats beautiful.........I want one"

    2. Future up-grades may make your system bigger. My custom S/R pushed my system from 90+29 to 90+60.

    3. I personally like to over skim my systems, esp. if you have a No3 problem.

    4. Which leads me to the fourth factor. Over-feeding. We all do it some time or another, esp. if we are over-stocked.

    5. By getting a "bigger" skimmer, will help in not needing to do WC's as often.

If your getting the 90, regardless of the size of your sump/refug, I would go for the EV 180. Its only a couple more $$$ and you'll be prepared for any up-grades later down the road. Just my 2 cents. Luna

Dang Luna, that is awesome advice. However, I already have my setup. My sig is only in the original post. I bought a used setup from my coworker. It was only 10 months old, so now my stuff is less than a year and a half old.

I thought about picking up a 180 and selling my 120 or find a trade. I have always over filtered in the past and always go bigger than needed. For the very reasons you give about overstocking. Thanks for bringing that back to the front of my head. Right now the 120 is overdrived by a Mag7. With my current stock, it barely breaks a sweat. (it seems?)

    This is my 75g sump.

I have changed it a bit but do not have a pic. The bubble trap next to the pump has been opened to 8 inches. The filter to the left has been removed and the glass too. I have placed the filter between the bubble trap baffles. I no longer use a submergible pump. I drilled the pump compartment and added a Velocity T4. My skimmer pump also pulls from that area. It is a Panword 150PS
The tank started its life as a 75g Allglass. I cut the center brace out as it is no longer needed because the baffles are doing its job.
The fuge has been under my 210g for 2 years
