Its like a bee sting only worse. the spike stays in you and you get a numb feeling for a couple days after.

If you are one of those who like bristol worms, is there a point where their are too many? I've got a load of them and don't really do anything about them.

And for all you that try to get stung... thats just crazy. I'm afraid enough touching some of the coral.

You're overfeeding. Their populations expand and contract with the amount of available food. If you have a ton, they have a ton of uneaten food and fish waste to eat. That's what I meant by their populations are self-regulated. I should have been more clear.

Bristleworms don't sting. They are more like getting a splinter or cactus spine. Depending on the thickness of your skin, the bristles might not even make it in. Fireworms DO sting. Some people have allergic reactions to normal bristleworms so a reaction will obviously happen for them.

    (I recommend gloves)

Fire worms are red and whit look fuzzy on the sides. Bristle worms are orange/reddish with small spies off the sides. the link I sent the second worm is a fire worm the first is a bristle. I have both in my tank. I have only seen one fire worm ever but the thought they are there makes me know im wearing gloves.
