most angels are NOT reef safe. they munch on all kinds of corals. they might not do it right off the bat but they prob will eventually.

Angels in general are almost always going to be reef safe with caution. But every fish has it's own unique personality too. It is in my opinion best to add them while they are young, so you can kind of "teach" them to eat prepared foods and not your reef. If you have a reef and want to try it, I would grab a smaller one. If you get him from a local pet store you might have a better chance with asking them how he has behaved in their tanks. If he starts chomping on your corals DO NOT get mad at him(not trying to be mean), you were the one who put him in their in the first place, and he's just doing what comes natural to him. Good luck, they are very beautiful.

Usually juveniles are fairly reef safe but that will change. They don't eat similar to tangs. They require spirulina seaweed like tangs. However, they also require sponge and meaty foods too (along with vitamins and HUFA's). Failure to feed a juvenile a variety of foods often results in them getting stuck in the middle of their "teenage" coloration change and then you have an ugly angel for the rest of it's life.

A "teenage" or adult Koran are not reef safe.

Yeah, I had a Juvi for about two years before he tapped his eye on a piece of rock. One of the most beatiful and smarter fish that I have owned. You are correct about the personality.....They can be quite aggressive but my expirience has been OK for Reef or at least worth trying and trade latter on as they become more aggressive>>>>>>

That's right and I feed Spirulina to all my fish in the form of frozen cubes every other day. Spirulina is a must IMO for all reef fish. Mine have really good color and live long lives to those whome are searching for a good food source>>>>>>

Like In wall mentioned as long as its a small one it will do for awhile , But one day they will drop and separate and it will become a adult and Baaam its munch time , I'd never put a Koran in my reef tank and a Tang and Koran have no similarities at all where food is concerned two totally different species and needs
