Is a Reef Ready tank too restricting??

    You really don't need more than about 3-4x turnover (so 3-4 times your total volume of water) for the return pump. A higher turnover rate is only going to help so much.

    For in- tank flow rate, I'd get enough to have at least 20x turnover in the display tank. I like a higher flow rate so I usually go with 40-60x turnover. This should be a good rate for a mixed reef tank. You could have more flow here if you wanted though.

    But personally, I like a higher turnover rate, not that it makes for cleaner" water, but because it adds more turbulence to the water surface in my display. Water tension = O2.

    I went ahead and got the 75G. I am picking it up and other components tomorrow!!! Time for some crash course plumbing i guess.

    yes you will be very happy you went with the 75 I just upgraded from a 55 as well :D my tanks still sitting in the back of my truck haha

    I also took your advice shackman and dropped the pro flex. I have a design for a diy 29g that I think will work. I'll pop a picture up of the sketch and get some feedback.
