is carbon ok with lps and soft corals

    When you rinse the carbon are you using tap water or ro water?

    hey mate... i run 24/7 carbon in my 55 gallon reef of LPS and softies... i change it every 2 months but before i use it... i rinse it using water from the tank...its been my routine for the past six months... and all corals are doing great... hope that helps...

    try to avoid using tap water on anything that would go in your tank...i suppose RO is the safest way...just an advice...

    Carbon will also remove important trace minerals. If you dose your tank you are fine and carbon is a good additions since it removes toxins and keeps the water clear. Your skimmer will also remove some trace minerals. I use carbon in all my tanks, however, I also dose my tanks with the essentials so it adds more benefit then harm. I've also spoke to many people that only add carbon when the water becomes a little cloudly.
