is clown pairing that hard?

    It's nice to know that Wareagle.
    lfs told me they had to be all the same size. I could have wrote a book on all the things they've told me thats been wrong,if it wasn't for 3reef and being able to ask all these newbie Q's [sorry], and read about all the problems you guys have been though in your reefing days I don't know if I'd still be trying to learn how to do this!! thanks for all the help!

    i think both of them are female i hope not because its been a day or so small guy (2') hang out on the top corner of my tank and big one ones in a while come and show his power to new guy goes back his rock where he sleep. i hope i am not going to loose my clown.

    Nope, you're good. The bigger they are the longer it takes to pair normally. Trust me, if your female was going to kill the male (if one's not dead yet you don't have 2 females;)) then it would have done so by now. I recommend that you simply ignore the tank for a few days (more for your own stress relief than anything else).

    I can't begin to express how normal that behavior is. It simply seems that you have the rare pair that takes longer to warm up to each other. :)

    it is 4 am in morning i have been monitoring the tank so far everything is good and i think they are pairing because i can see new guy coming to resident's place and i guess they will sleep together. now i can sleep gussh. by the way i barely see my blood shrimp which i put him 2 days ago but my other one which is cleaner shrimp he is all over my tank. and my emerald also coming out when the lights off. i will post pic. very soon.

    Blood shrimp are renown for being extremely shy. He's probably going to find a little cave to hide in and not come out. Typically once the fish know he's there they will go to him.:)

    I'm glad your clowns are fine.
