Another thing, is there a drainage tube from the skimmer cup? Like an overflow tube?

well john it was the guy in the shop who said this is the kiddy i told him i wanted the prysm or what ever its called but he said its pap and for my size tank i need something with more balls he said he uses this at home so after he showed me a pitcher of his fish tank that was it i bought it i dont beleve he was trying to rip me off as its about the same price as the prysym thingy and shifs a lot more water but on reflection he may have cut the pitcher of his tank from fishkeepers weekley and might not know his ass from his guppy but it dose say on that link that you shuld add a shutoff valve to inlet if you get this problem so i wont cut any thing ill exstend a flexy pipe and clamp that and see what happens if it shuts down ill find the man who slod me it and place the thing up a warm orafis and plug it in and stand back and wait for the bubles to rize from his nose and tell him thats from johno

No, No, No, I didn't mean there is anything wrong with the product, I meant that the advice you have been given after purchasing the product may have been bad. I'm sure that once you get it woking that it will be OK.

OK, is the overflow pipe working?

The other thing is try removing the valve on the air intake, clamp the pipe by bending it over ( I assume it's normal airline ) and slowly release the bend and watch the bubbles.

You should get no bubbles when you bend the pipe over and they should slowly appear as you slowly release the bend, try that and let us know what happens

yes the over flow kinda works well the lid blows off first cos of presher from the fome lol the air valve dose shut off the bubles fine and make them rize fine so i know the valve is working i realy beleve it the intake and shear volume of water preshior from the pump being so powerfull it would exsplane why it comes out like mad

 

i meen even if it was skimming proply it still would not justfy the massave flow from the out take not thats its skiming like ozzy says i f***** hate bubles lol

 

I know, and agree that is probably a pressure issue, I am just a bit surprised that the skimmer would come with a pump that was so strong.

OK last question, do you have the Water return and degassing plate fitted? Could also be called the Sliding outlet protection plate. If so try removing it and see if that makes a difference. I wonder whether the plate is restricting the water flow coming out and thereby causing the problem.

well the plate dose make the water not hit down like a belly flop from jimmy tarbuck without it its worce becuse the deassing plate brakes the water down gently rather than hevey but the bubles are insane

 

its like the bubels are foraming in the box before the out let wen i open the air intake
