    well im going back to the shop now and tell the guy ill take a aqua c remora as people on thease forams seem to rate it so much thx for all your help and my advice is if you have a fish tank the size of olimpic swimming pool this might be the skimmer for you but if your a person who wants control over your in take and out take dont buy this skimmer thx to ever one who helped

    dam in england i could not get i aqua c what a bumer i had to get a red sea prysem whitch seem to be ok altho its not produceing a dark collerd foam yet but at least i can contorl it and im getting the bubles to pop just at the top of tube i red some were it bwecuse of settle in so ill wait a week or so to see what happens o john the salt level is 1.023 specific gravity im useing a r o water whitch i make my self with a kent ro unit i have the tank filled with live rock and untill now for the last 3 years ive not uased a skimmer just bio filters and lots exsternals and inturnls but i got a skimmer cos of my algy prblem green stuff slimey growing on sand

    Are you keeping a fish only or reef tank? Wet dark foam is the stuff you want, full of DOCs and unwanted cellulite!

    Algae is a sign of phosphates and nitrates which skimming will have a minimum effect on. Need a way to exoport those out of your system. A refugium is one way as is replacing a portion of the sand bed every so often

    well i ran the prysem last night and bingo the cup was almost full of a brown gunk this morning so thats a good thing never heard of a fefugiun before but replaceing some sand i can do

    My assement.  You've got a dechlor or something of that nature messing up the water.  That skimmer should only have a few hour break in period, or at least thats what 30+ people I know whom have them have reported to me.
