Like I posted earlier that I had added 2 new turbo snails to my 55 g tank, is it normal for one or both of them to crawl up the glass and sit on the top of the tank attached to the HOB filter i have? I moved the snail back to the LR and within hours it is back on the top of the glass attached to the filter... does anyone care to relate on why?

Because it's a snail. There's apparently something up there it finds more tasty than the the stuff on your rocks. I've had them come clear up on the rim and have a trip around in the open air for a bit. Sometimes they even pick the wrong way home and end up on the floor. :)

lol ok i just thought maybe i had some defective snails lmao :p thanks for the clear up. i just wasn't sure if it was normal because a a tiny snail that came with one of my LR from petco that got snuck in with the rocks and when i established the rocks he too went up to the filter. I wasnt sure if it was the vibration or what. :|

When I got my CUC for my 75g I ordered about 20 nerite snails (among others) And when I added them to the tank I placed them all on different places on rockwork. Within a couple hours they had all congregated in top corner of the tank. They stayed around that spot for weeks. Now they seems to wander.

Did have a few of them go carpet surfing.

A lot of these snails, I know nerites are, are found in tide pools and along the coast so they actually live out of the water for periods of time. I think that's one reason they tend to congregate at the surface area and corners.
