Ya should be easy. Drain 3/4 of the water into rubbermain bins then slide tank to new position. Put water back in tank. Should take a hour or 2 max. I've done my fair share of moving tanks and what u have to do is fairly easy. Just make sure when ur moving it you go nice and slow so you don't disturb the sandbed to much.
    Good luck!

I moved my 40 forward about a foot and it was very simple. If you have a stand that is smooth on the bottom on carpet, or something similar, it will be easy to move just drain as much water as you can. Go VERY SLOW! :D

I recently took carpet out of my living room and added hardwood.in the living room is where my tank is (125 gal tank). We had to move the tank outta the way to get the carpet up and new floor down. Me and one other guy did this in a matter of 30 minutes and this is how: First i took out a quarter of the water then with a pry bar lifted one side of the tank up about a half inch we then took schedule 40 pvc pieces about 6 of them and slowly slid them under the tank one at a time until the entire tank was sitting on them. Then we got on both ends of the tank and walked it over out of the way one person at the tail end has to take the pvc from the side it falls out of and return it to the front. I know this sounds like a pain but wow it went flawlessly with no problems! I hope this helps!

That's probably the best way to do it.^ Safe too.

That actually sounds really sketchy. I can't imagine rolling my tank on pvc. But hey if it worked that's good. I still say drain, move, refill.

I only want to rotate it 45* It is in a corner now, and this would make it more visible. I think I am going to go for it next time I do a large water change.
