    Jace, I don't think anyone addressed part of your question or I am not understanding it properly. If you built up rock on the side of the tank you might run into flow problems where dead zones can form and build up toxins.

    Also, If you only had corals on the side of the tank and nothing in the middle of the tank you'd have a tough time keeping the biological side of the tank healthy.

    Those are quick observations from a complete rookie. Please correct me if I misunderstand something.

    I bought suction cups, and took the plastic from my moon lights cut out the part that held the moonlight. Cut an x in it with a razor blade, attached the suction cup, and suctioned it to the glass. I put my xenia in the cup part, and am waiting for it to attach to the glass.

    i have a red monticap growing on the overflow side of my tank and it has started to attach to the coraline on he overflow if i ever figure out how to attache photos again i will post one
