Is it Safe To Drink RO Water?? You'd be surprised..

What if you take a multivitamin everyday and drink R/O water exclusively?

 

hmmm....... my mom just found out last week she has kidney disease, due to long term uncontrolled high blood pressure(not controlled enough). Her Dr. has recommended drinking ro/di water. I'm going to print this thread and have her bring it to her Kidney specialist to see what she says.... I'll let you all know......

 

You should ask her how long the Dr. said she should drink ro/di water......like I said on my previous post, some people do drink DI water to rid the body of impurities...If a doctor has recommended ro/di water, I'm sure it will be controlled and with some sort of supplement.

 

RO/DI + UV filtration is Culligan's. It's what's in every upside down 5gal blue bottle in waiting rooms, locker rooms, offices, etc..

Don't really seem the harm. You'd prob die sooner from drinking TOO MUCH water (of any quality) than Ro/Di water vs. tap. Anybody remember "Hold Your Pee For A Wii" ..

 

What ever became of that raido deal ? as I recall someone got sick or messed up maybe someway ? Never heard much about it just knew there was a contest to win a Wii you could not pee LOL Now for a playstation maybe but not for a Wii

While it is true that too much water is toxic to humans (I have personally taken care of a young lady having seizures from drinking too much water), I doesn't cause any problems for healthy bodies when consumed in normal amounts. If the only water your drank at home was RO or DI or distilled you would still be getting 'regular' water from many other sources. Most beer and softdrink manufacturers only use filtered water so you likely get minerals when you drink other things. Also, if you eat a balanced diet you are getting minerals from the rest of your diet as well. As to what kind of water you drink, unless you know that you have something harmful in your domestic water supply, go ahead and drink tap water. The only reason to drink more expensive water would be if you prefer the taste. As to what taste you prefer, that's a matter of personal choice.

 

I would like to tell you of my personal experance. We have a DI unit on all our house water. We got it 10 years ago, I though it would be good for my freshwater fish. Oh my, after a little while I noticed that all my snails were turning white and dying. It was because the water wanted the minerals back, and it was leaching it back out of everything it could[hungry water]. I found out that you must add back these minerals to get good water for freshwater fish. As for saltwater you are adding all that back in the mix.

I understand your point of view regarding this topic, however, I would suggest you take a look at the information within this site and tell me what you think. I felt the same way you did about drinking RO water untill I did my research.

The above article ends all the folly of RO/DI being somehow bad for you. Like it points out, you get all your minerals from food and/or a good suppliment. Drink to your hearts content!
