Buy bacteria supplements to get some extra bacteria and such on your rock going? In an established tank and in a new tank

I used one of those startup bottles of bacteria when I started my first sw tank a few years ago and it did drop my cycle down to only a week so yeah I think they can be of use in new tanks. Personally I wouldn't use some in an established tank, I just don't like to rock the boat in a system that's already up and running.

Yeah. I also had another question which I don't wanna start another thread for. I am unhappy with the rock i have in my 70gal which has been going for a year. I don't have nearly enough. I was going to buy 10lbs of live rock and 50lbs of dry rock to put in.

If I were to do this, how would I go about it to not hurt what I have goin on? I don't want to take out all the rock I have which is live and hurt the system, but I don't want to keep it in the tank either. Could I just add the live rock and 50lbs of dry rock and let it seed without harming much? There isn't a very big bio load on the tank at the moment.

1 clown 1 dog face puffer 1 yellow tang 1 striped damsel 1 camel shrimp.

I would phase it in over time. If it were me I would avoid adding any new live rock. You can have die off in the transfer to your tank from the store which might hurt some of your levels plus you don't know what nasties might come in with it. I would just stick with adding new base rock that has been thoroughly rinsed only.

I've used SeaChem Stability and it's a great product.

Either use Brightwells MB7/biofuel or Prodibio Bio Digest.
Do they work? It cut my cycle time down to 10 days. My live rock was already cured, though.
Did I have a Microscope to see if I had little Bacteria on my rocks? Nope, so?
If your tank is fine and it's established..you don't need it.

I personally had good results with Dr. Tim's one and only nitrifying bacteria. Ammonia spiked around .25ppm and then it was like instantly gone and didnt even really have a nitrite spike. Added a percula clownfish 2 weeks ago and feed him 2-3 times a day and my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels are all at zero. The directions say you can add to an established tank after water changes to boost your bio load or if you're experiencing ammonia and nitrite problems.
