There is a small chance that I will be able to upgrade. My parents' friend has been trying to sell a supposedly 60 gallon tank with cannopy and stand. They have it at a LFS to try to sell it, I asked for dimensions so their going to find out, so i'm just waiting to hear back.

This is not a huge upgrade since it would be going form a 46 bow to a 60, i'm hoping it's really a 75 or 90. This maybe the only chance i would have to upgrade since it's from a friend of my parents, and they actually said maybe, so there is a chance that i would do the upgrade. They would also take the 46 in trade, and possibly the 20, but im thinking i would use the 20 as a sump.

I would to buy a new light and possibly skimmer. I know this is not a huge upgrade, but i think any upgrade is better than none.

So if i'm able to get the tank do you think it would be worth the extra expense for going from a 46bow which is 3foot, to a probably 4ft tank with 14 more gallons? Or would i be better off just sticking with the 46?

If it's 4' feet, I would say go for it. And I would trade in the 20G sump so you can upgrade to a bigger sump like a 30G or 30G Long. Over all it sounds like a good deal to me & If I had the money I would Def do it ;D

You'd have to buy a new skimmer and new light? That's gonna get expensive.....you already know how I feel about it! Personally, I don't think all the hassle is worth it for 14 more gallons, and all your coral are so happy in your tank. I'd hate for you to switch tanks and things get out of whack.

She already needs a new skimmer.

Your current lights will due for a bit, but will need a future upgrade. Considering this and your current money situations, I would pass or ask for a loan from the parents.

skimmers coming in tomrrow :D the new skimmer is Reef Octopus lx1000s, dont know if that would do for a skimmer. And yea money is deffiently an issue lol so that's the one main reason why im not sure if ill be able to do the upgrade in the first place.

They really want to get rid of the tank, so maybe they can work with me to talk my parents into saying the official yes.

lol i dont know what to do, on one hand i really want the tank because it will be bigger, but at the same time i dont know.

Im just dying to hear back from them for the dimensions.
