I have 2 tunzes that are not controllable currently for my 40 breeder. As the build seems to be taking longer than first anticipated I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to the vortech mp10.

if you find someone that says no... id be shoked. they seem to be the bees knees when it comes to tech stuff for tanks. they do a great job of not just moving water, but doing it just like a reef, lagoon, tidal pool, any water movement youll need.

They are pricy, but you could scratch off powerheads from the list of things youll need for a long time... and if you upgrade theyll still make a difference in anytank.

Would one be sufficient for a 40 breeder?

Two would be a little more fun, but one is absolutely sufficient for a 40 breeder.

If you are keeping sps you need more then one mp10 in a 40 B. The chaotic water movement is what you are going for.

Need is a strong word. im sure he could keep sps w/o a mp10, let alone 2. as long as his water chemistry is ok. sps would be fine as long as it hugs the general area that the pump puts out. but i do agree that 2 would make placement a lot easier as it wouldnt need to be specific.

I run 1 Mp10 ES on the Eco Smart setting 2. I also run a Koralia 240gph on a timer, runs during the day only. So far my corals are loving it! This is on a 26g bow front :)

OK let's settle this. I have 2 hydor koralia evo 1400's on my tank with the hydor wave maker and it is AWESOME! My corals are adjusting and looking great. That being said, I WISH I had 2 mp's! I think across the board, if ya can swing the cash, its the way to go. But I have $115 in my 2 pumps with the wavemamker.

I have one in my 40B and it creates a good amount of flow, but I have mainly softies. If you want more flexibility, I would go with 2 and the wireless option.
