I worked at a petstore while in college, one of my favorite jobs I enjoying redoing the tanks and talking to people all day about fish. I ended up wit ha 20gallon tote in my dorm filled with way to many fish and drove them 8 hours home with me on summerbreak to buy a 40gallon tank lol

awesome, thanks ! i am new MH, using only T5 and PC so far, very shocked to see bulbs they sell at 80$???? that too with replacement of every year, in that case i will be better with taotronics 120w led

 

i had 8 t5 HO bulbs over my first tank a 58 gallon, t5's are great lights , but they lack shimmer. maybe adding some led's to them would help?

and yes bulbs on halides can be pricey. and 150 watt is not enough light in many cases

 

My thought exactly,for the price of a used fixture and new bulb your almost there in price.I use a current sunpod now and they are a good fixture,good ballast.I've been using mine four years with no problem,but I think I'll be checking out leds before buying another replacement bulb.
