Is my coral dead?

    did anything fall on either of them? for example did you see a small frag or coral on the sandbed below where they were? Where they were positioned before any chance of another coral near them stinging them? Any chance lights got stuck on all night? I lost a duncan to a small sps frag falling into it and then i lost a huuuuge hammer because i went on a trip and my light timer got stuck in the on position for 4 days. hope that shed some light on things for you. not 4 days of straight light but you know.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    IMO neither the ca level nor the pH are the problem.

    Like grinder posted I would look at flow. Also swings in parameters like SG and alk.

    Ive had those two specific corals for over three weeks now? they were looking great for the first week or so, I have this two part Kent marine nano reef ion and buffer system, is that good for a buffer?

    so just regular unscented backing soda? How much am I adding into my tank (10 gallon)

    how much baking soda would I add in for a 10 gallon?

    its been 7.9 for the longest time, I have a two part buffering system by kent I got from the LFS giving that a go, but Im gonna try and use the baking soda,

    No im pretty sure nohting has fallen on them, the scape is pretty firm, and no i havent left the light on for the night, but thank you! im leaving the light on for about 9-10 hours a day,

    um I dont know what is considered "good" surface agitation but when i look at it you can see waves and such nothing huge just bumps on the water, is that enough?

    i would do a tsp first and then wait about an hr and then check ph again...and adjust accordingly...

    do you have an overflow? does your water get to splash in sump a little if you do?..I let my water enter about 2" or so above the water level in my sump..but I have filter a sock on the drains that prevent the splash from making a mess...that helps oxygenate the water too...so will macro algae
