    Hey guys,

I am fairly new to the coral community, just started adding coral to my FOWLR once i could maintain steady safe water parameters. One of my polyps usually is fully bloomed and colorful, but over the last few days its been closed up and only about a 1/3 of it is opening up. My other coral is doing fine and looks normal. I wanna make sure there isn't something wrong. Attached is a picture of the coral. Any responses back would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Exactly. It looks like galaxia coral which is highly aggressive. Thry have stinging sweepers that can get 5-6 inches long.

That definitely looks like a galaxia. I would move the coral and any others away from it.

If moving them doesn't help. Please post your water params. My bet is the same as everyone else though- sweeper tentacles from the galaxia.

thanks for all the helpful advice guys! I have now placed the corals on opposite ends of the tank from each other to prevent any future attacks. I will update you all tomorrow on how the corals are doing.

Once you get addicted to coral, I am going to bet you will get rid of that galaxia lol. I have a torch and I hate it. It is so annoying that I can't put corals in that section of the tank. I ran out of room for coral and I have to keep corals like 4 inches away from it. Stupid torch. And galaxia is twice as bad.

Thats a galaxia. man that thing is mean. I have one and it got close to a set of my acans and I had to nip that in the bud.

PLUS LOOK it appears as if the coral on the left is extending over to reach the other.
