    Day 32:
    I think my cylce may be over. Let me know your thought's. Protein skimmer not turned on. Lights have been for 8 hours a day the past week. 200lbs of dry rock. 20lbs of live rock in sump. 200lbs of sand. (2) Hydor Koralia 1400's. 2 300watt heaters. 3 damsels during cycle process.
    pH: 8.0
    Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates all 0.


    What is everyone's thoughts for the next step? :)

    Yep, that's the down side of cycling with live damsels- you now have 3 demons from Hell that think the entire tank is theirs. :-/

    Have you introduced a cleaning crew yet? snails, crabs, sand sifting starfish..etc....sounds like a big tank? got a picture ? no more brown diatoms? if ya still got the brown happening, your still in the cycle, nitrogen cycle I believe..post a pic.:) Hard to say...so many variables...sounds like your close...but you need a CC for sure....and/or a CUC..lol :)

    CUC from reefcleaners.org will be my first addition to the tank.

    I have not had any of the brown diatom's yet. I didnt get those in my 90 gallon until about 2 months in. Do you think i'm not getting the diatoms since I used dry rock?

    they'll prob still come, but maybe not as bad! remember the way your doing it is slower! everything is slower!
