Is my Leather dead? w/ pictures

I think it would be worth trying to save. I would cut the whole necrotic tissue off, under water. It's gonna slime!! Do this not in your tank, but a separate bowl of tank water. then attach it to a small rock. Douse the whole thing with iodine and put it back into the tank. I'd put it somewhere close to an intake on your filter, not to get sucked in but to have any toxins released to go directly to the filter. Hopefully this won't affect your other corals..

 

If it were mine id iodine dip and blast with high flow for a week or so these things dont like to be in low current areas as their waste/slime needs to be swept ways

 

im not being funny but that looks awful!! I dislike mine refusing to stand up - yours looks like its disintergrating - and you say you only bought it 5 days ago from the shop?? I would be taking it back and demanding an exchange or refund!!

 

that would be the easiest thing to do! Probably worth the trip too.

 

The Leather was looking real bad this morning, so I pulled it. I don't think any of was still alive so I cut my losses and I'm moving on. Thanks for the help, it might come into play later down the road.

 

You should take it back to the store and get a credit.
