Well title say's it all. Tested my Ph tonight wanted to wait till the lights went out. It was well over 8.6. My tank has been running since feb/08. Just started putting fish in there last month. All other pars. seem to check out normal. But is that too high? If so what can I do to take it down. I will test it again when I wake up in the AM. Heard it changes throughout the day or something like that.

once you start playing around with ph you effect the rest of the parimeters like alkalinity which has to balance with calcium alk ph magnesium.if your tank looks ok don't change a thing.i don't think its high enough to hurt.i lost $150 in frags and it started with playing around with ph and then alk then magnesium.calcium was always good.once things finally balanced i decided never to do that again.

I agree with Ziggy, leave it alone, besides at that level, you'll never have a problem with algae. Luna
