    Here are my tank parameters:

    Ammonia 0
    PH 7.9
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 17

It's only on it's 4th week of cycling. I cycled the tank with some squid tentacles, my DIY live rock that was curing for 6 months, and some oolite sand.

Im starting to get some diatoms/or brown algae or something and was wondering if you thought my tank was ready for some snails? The Nitrate being somewhat high is concerning me. Do you think it is safe for a fish also?

    Thanks! =)

personally id only add a few snails. see how that goes, and maybe waitr another week or 2 before adding your 1st fish. preferably of the hardy variety. ie a pair of clowns. that just my opinion. good luck.

It's a 112G with a 40G sump custom sump. The sump only has 2 sections a protein skimmer/overflow section and a return section. No Fuge. I have a Vertex 150 Protein Skimmer and a 700GPH return. 2 Modified Maxi Jet 1200 pushing about 1200 GPH I think.

I want to eventually have a reef tank so I am looking for all reef safe fish. I definately want some clowns and maybe a yellow tang. Some gobies or blennies too. Maybe a hippo tang but I think my tank is a little small. Thats pretty much it. I just want them to have a lot of space so they'll be happy.
