i cycled my fuge to get some benificial bacteria going as my display tank wasnt ready. Now i brought my 75g display tank online and believe the bacteria will populate the display tank over time without moving a LR into it, is this correct? Same for coraline algea? Spores will travel through all filtration and socks to seed the display without moving a LR. So far no mini spike and gfo/ carbon dual reactor taking care of any phos from the dry rock, i did use live sand which should also seed bacteria.

Yes, Overtime it should populate your dry rock.

I'd assume the coraline would too... but I'll let someone else answer that (since I dont know how the filtration would affect that).

I'm guessing dry rock was used in the display to save money. It's what I did.

If you're worried about it, just take a small peice of rock from the fuge to seed the baserock

Quarter of the price... No hitch-hikers... No contaminants... Usually less phosphate bound up

Eventually you would get a population going. Why not move some or all of the cycled rock to the DT?

That will do it. You can also buy coraline boosters online from a few spots. I get my startup crews from Indo Pacific Sea Farms. One of their items is a plate with coraline on it to seed your tank. They also have a bunch of other cool stuff including amphipods, ministars, etc.
