is pvc glue/primer reef safe?

    on the plumbing for my new tank we are going to use purple primer and gold pvc glue (the gold is for plumbing drinking water)

    would this be reef safe once it's fully cured?

    Yes, you should be fine. Just make sure it's 100% cured before use.

    I used regular old purple primer and PVC glue on my connections with no side affects

    Thats what I used. Just make sure it's dry first. 2 hours is plenty of time to cure.

    this question seems to come up alot lately. you will be fine. redid some plumbing last night since for some reason my glass cracked. thinking my kids are at fault. anyhow glued the pipes and turned the pumps on 15 seconds later, no problem. the stuff sets faster than people think, but nothing wrong with a little extra precaution.

    exactly.

    The oatey purple primer, and the gold can oatey pvc cement is what I use. it is 100% food safe and while you ideally should let it sit a couple hours, I have used it many times right away with no issues.
