I've had 2. They are old tech. I'm still using 1 on the 55 hospital. I'm too lazy to change it out. Heck, I only change the water in that tank quarterly. I have one damsel and some rock in it to keep it cycling. They are junk compared to what is now available. Technology marches on...

I've been using mine for over 4 months now with no complaints. I empty the cup every 3 days. The stuff in the cup is green smelly gunk, so it is doing it's job. There is nothing wrong with this product. I don't have to do as many water changes and my nitrates have been kept under 10ppm. However, I do feel like it is out dated and I'm thinking of getting up to date. Good skimmer but you will feel the need to upgrade. My advice is to spend a little more to get a better up-to-date skimmer.

I had one for about 1 year, and it performed fine. However, the pump crapped out on me, and I ended up replacing it with a coralife skimmer. Let me tell you the difference was night and day. The coralife way outperforms it...and they cost about the same.

Ive had mine close to 2 yrs. It needs adjusting all the time.sometimes it will work great for a couple of days filling up the cup then it wont.
I would spend the extra money and get a better one IMO.

They suck, you can do things to them to make them suck less, but they still suck, if you are buying new, dont waste money on one. I have one that I have had for sometime, and recently did a bio ball modification to the pump, and now it works better, but if still sucks, now it just sucks less.

    Did I mention they suck??

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.............

That's what I think of it, and I have one. If you had a choice between no skimmer and a Seaclone, then use the Seaclone. If you have a choice between a Seaclone and either a Coral Life Superskimmer or an AquaC Remora, do not choose the Seaclone. I've run an AquaC Remora side by side with a Seaclone, and let me tell you, there was no comparison. The AquaC pulled out skimmate so much more efficiently then the Seaclone that the Seaclone stopped pulling out skimmate, while the AquaC kept on rolling along.

Get a Coral Life for around the same amount of money, or spend more and get an AquaC Remora. I prefer the AquaC but both are good.

    Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

    Seaclones SUCK!!!!!

I cant even imagine asking such a question now... , thats all I meant. There is a great library here of knowledge. Fact remains, that the Sea Clone still sucks.
