Hey Luna, Well thats how I started. But what happened was the water level would not stay even. Meaning the return section ran out of water. Thus my new question, why does this only happen when I filter the return side ?

This was the original design. I could not keep the water level.
If I take it out and make a 3" baffle and add one of those 3" foam blocks that may work, but it still seemes as if the water is too retricted. When I added the felt pad, it immediately went down.

I may try it anyway, but replacing the inner baffle would S^%$..

Well, the water level goes down b/c the filter pad gets clogged with time and the water also evaporates. Thats why you have to clean it on a regular basis. Luna

I would be happy with that..
This happens as soon as I install a new pad. The same thing happend to the blue pad and the felt pad..

Mag 9 not strong enough ??

If that is happening even with a brand new pad, then the baffles or somethin is restricting the flow. Try something, instead of cutting a perfect fit inbetween the baffles, try cutting it 1" shorter on either side. See if the water gets restricted then. Luna
