Is that a coral

    I went to the fish store and decided to cycle my tank with a damsel and some cured rocks and that purple thing is on it what is it. it looks like a bunch of tubes

    Also there is something else but can't get a good picture it's little and clear but looks like a tree. I have look at a lot of apstia picture and looks nothing like it. Any idea?

    yeah its called green star polyp....although this picture is just showing the mat of the polyps search up green star polyps its looks really cool and spreads really fast!

    I'm not so sure that it's green star polyps. Might be a sponge or tunicates but it's really hard to say from that picture.

    It looks to me like some type of tunicate or perhaps even a tube coral of some sort. You'll have to see once the water gets a bit better if it does anything. It might even be an old tube coral skeleton that's no longer living.

    if ur cylcling it will kill it.....but are you guys sure it not GSP it looks like a unhealthy GSP to me

    Doesnt look anything like gsp imo. and cycling wont always kill it. whatever it is, it may make it.

    It is a bunch of tubes. I have been looking at picture but can't find one like that.
